2005-03-11 What do you knit in summer? A minisweater! I made it out of Panda's discontinued Acrylic, alpaca, nylon blend boucle "Blossom", which is an 8 ply which I scored for $1 a ball at Big W. Not bothering to do the yarn/weight conversion maths, I noted that the pattern called for just over 4 balls of this yarn and I had three, I naively popped back to Big W to buy an extra ball. I made the sweater a good bit longer than the pattern, because I had loads of yarn, and also started the neck increases earlier because I don't have a lot in the way of boobs to hold. I haven't really worn it much, just because it's been rather too warm for it. I ended up using just over two balls, which now leaves me with this semi-hideous semi-novelty yarn to do.. something with. I also didn't increase the sleeves as much, because I love the puff, but not that much, as my small torso with puffy sleeves always makes me feel like a dirty football player. Do note: My room was hideously messy at the time that the photograph was taken. Also note Mr Winkle newspaper article in top right hand corner and the pink blob under the hello kitty bag is a half finished dog jumper for my dear Snuffy. It is half finished in that I decided on the second leg that it was far too torturous to work acrylic with metal dpns.
